Why sublimation paper get curl ? How we solve the curling problem ?

First of all , you should know why sublimation paper get curl ? 
Sublimation paper is a coated paper, made up with two important parts : The base paper, and the sublimation coating. Both the two parts contains moisture. When you put the sublimation paper in a environment of dry air and high temperature , the moisture will evaporate. At this time, if the moisture of the base paper and the moisture of the coating evaporate inconsistently, the paper curls.  The process of the moisture evaporation, we call it “scalability”. 


How to solve the curling problem ? 
1.We use high quality sublimation base paper. Our premium sublimation paper adopts the premium sublimation base paper ( not offset paper). This type of base paper is made up of nature wood pulp (softwood and hardwood), the fiber is longer , and the flexibility of the fiber is better than the offset paper. So the performance and the scalability is better. A better performance and scalability helps to reduce potential to curl. 


2.The anti-curl coating. The base paper has two side : Felt side and wire side. The smoother surface of the base paper is often the felt side. The wire side of the base paper is often considered to be rougher. Typically, sublimation transfer paper is only printed on one side. Accordingly, the sublimation transfer paper only needs to have the sublimable ink receptive coating on the side that receives and holds the sublimable ink. So the smoother felt side will be coated with sublimation coating. The wire side can be left uncoated or can have a coating thereon. 
   But if the paper is only coated on one side, the structure is not stable and balanced, the paper many have an increased tendency to curl. So the second method to preventing curling problem, is to coat the wire side with a functional coating too. The functional coating ,or named as anti-curl coating, could provide the sublimation transfer paper enhanced stability. 

With above two solutions, we solve the curling problem perfectly.
